Shuttle service available to our two kennel locations.
If you live in Harford County and you’ve ever driven past a generic strip-mall boarding facility and thought there has to be something better, you’re right. Country Comfort Kennels & Camp for Pets has been a trusted option for Harford County families since 1974, and our main Maryland location sits at 2102 Mount Horeb Rd in Street, MD — right in the heart of the county. We’re not a high-volume pet hotel processing hundreds of dogs like luggage. We’re a family-run operation that has spent decades learning what dogs actually need when their owners are away.
The Weiskopf family has operated CCK since 1983. That continuity matters in an industry where facilities open and close, ownership changes, and the staff you trusted last year is gone by the next. When you call our Harford County location, you’re talking to people who know this community.
Harford County’s mix of rural stretches, growing suburbs like Bel Air and Forest Hill, and working farms means we see a wide range of dogs. Lab mixes from Aberdeen, hound dogs from the rural areas near Pylesville, anxious rescues from Fallston, social butterflies from neighborhoods in Jarrettsville and Churchville. What they all share is that they deserve more than a concrete run and a food bowl.
At CCK, we approach each dog based on their personality and needs. Some dogs thrive in group play settings. Others need a quieter, lower-stimulation experience. We’ve been doing this long enough to know the difference, and we’re not shy about recommending the option that’s actually right for your dog rather than the one that costs more.
We offer three types of accommodations, all in climate-controlled facilities. Harford County summers run hot and humid, with temperatures regularly pushing into the 90s, and winters bring real cold — occasional ice storms, hard freezes, and nor’easters that make Route 24 unpredictable. You should have peace of mind knowing your dog will be comfortable here.
Our standard indoor runs are spacious, clean, and designed for comfort. Each includes fresh bedding, fresh water, treats, toys, and regular individual attention from staff. Dogs in indoor runs are rotated out to their own personal outside exercise yards throughout the day — they’re not stuck inside on a nice afternoon.
A patio terrace run connects your dog’s indoor space directly to their own outside terrace, with a door that stays open during the day. If your dog is used to having yard access at home and would find a standard enclosed run frustrating, this option lets them go in and out at their own pace throughout the day.
For dogs who need the feel of home and don’t adapt well to a traditional kennel environment, the luxury suite is worth the step up. It’s a large, quiet, private indoor room with premium amenities on top of our standard package. Think private room versus shared hallway. Senior dogs, dogs with anxiety, and dogs with a strong preference for calm do best here.
Not every situation requires overnight boarding. If you work long hours in Bel Air or Aberdeen, commute toward Baltimore, or just need somewhere safe and stimulating for your dog during a busy day, CCK’s doggy daycare is a practical solution. Dogs in daycare get supervised socialization with compatible dogs, exercise, and enrichment. They come home legitimately tired.
Daycare runs Monday through Friday, 7am to 6pm. That window gives Harford County commuters time to drop off before hitting Route 1 or I-95 and pick up on the way home.
Dog boarding at CCK isn’t just a place to stay — it includes access to our Camp Activities program, which covers outdoor play, supervised group activities, and time in our nature areas. We also offer bathing services, so your dog can come home clean after a week of outdoor activity. These aren’t buried premium upgrades. They’re part of how we run the operation.
If you’re traveling and connecting through one of Baltimore’s major transit hubs, our pet shuttle service removes the logistical headache of transporting your dog to the kennel. We run scheduled pickups and returns at three established locations in Baltimore County:
The shuttle is appointment-only and fills up fast around holidays. If you’re heading to BWI or catching an Amtrak connection and don’t want to manage a crate through a parking garage, this is exactly what the service was designed for. Harford County pet owners traveling through the Timonium or White Marsh corridor should book early.
A 25% deposit confirms your reservation. If you pick your dog up before noon on the departure day, no boarding charge is incurred for that final day.
Our Street, MD location is roughly 10-15 minutes west of downtown Bel Air via Route 24 and Mount Horeb Road. Most Harford County residents find the drive very manageable.
Yes. Our runs are sized to accommodate larger breeds, and families with multiple dogs from the same household can often share a run. Call us to discuss your specific setup before booking.
Our Street, MD facility is the closest full-service kennel for most of Harford County. We serve families from Bel Air, Fallston, Forest Hill, Aberdeen, Havre de Grace, Edgewood, Joppatowne, Jarrettsville, and throughout the county.
We encourage it. Nothing replaces seeing the space in person. Contact us to schedule a visit during regular business hours.
We require proof of current vaccinations. Contact us or see our FAQs page for the specific list of required vaccines.
Yes. We have a separate cat boarding area that is quiet, climate-controlled, and kept entirely apart from the dog areas. Cats and dogs do not share space.
We administer medications for an additional fee. Medications must be clearly labeled with dosage, schedule, and purpose. See our medication policy on the FAQs page for full details.
We've handled plenty of anxious dogs over the years. Depending on your dog's specific needs, we may recommend a quieter accommodation like a luxury suite, reduced group play time, or specific handling instructions. The honest answer is that it depends on the dog. Call us and let's have a real conversation about it before you book.
Yes. Overnight boarding is our primary service. Dogs stay in climate-controlled accommodations with daily room service, outdoor exercise time, meals, and staff attention. We accommodate single nights through extended multi-week stays.
Our Street, MD location is easily accessible from I-83 and serves families throughout the northern Maryland and southern Pennsylvania corridor. We also offer a pet shuttle from Timonium and White Marsh for added convenience.

I cannot say enough good things about this kennel and it's staff. They are all so friendly and our 3 Olde English Bulldogges love to go there each and every time. During our last boarding, one of our dogs injured her dew claw and it required additional medical attention. The staff informed us of the injury right away and a plan was made to get her in with one of the kennel's local vets. She was seen the very next morning and taken care of. I was so happy with the communication from the staff to us while we were away. I was even more happy with the care they provided to our girl. <3Posted on Google![]()

Not all types of accommodations may be available at all locations.
We will gladly administer medications for an additional fee. Please see our Medication Policy.
