Shuttle service available to our two kennel locations.
Cockeysville sits right in the middle of the I-83 corridor, tucked between Oregon Ridge Park to the west and Gunpowder Falls State Park to the east. It is a community that knows good green space when it sees it, which might be exactly why Cockeysville dog owners tend to be particular about where their pets go when they cannot be home. A standard chain boarding facility just does not cut it.
Country Comfort Kennels in Jarrettsville, MD is the kind of place those owners look for. We are a family-owned kennel on real country property, about 30 minutes northeast of Cockeysville, and we have been taking care of Baltimore County pets since 1983. For clients who prefer not to make the drive, our shuttle meets at the Timonium Park & Ride, which is right on I-83 and easy to reach from most of Cockeysville in under 10 minutes.
The word “vacation” matters to us. At Country Comfort Kennels, boarding is not confinement with feeding schedules. Our dogs go on nature walks through wooded trails, play in secured off-leash yards, swim in a pond when the weather is right, and get genuine attention from trained pet care counselors who treat your pet like an individual. Our Jarrettsville property is the kind of open, pastoral setting that makes a dog’s day interesting rather than just long.
For a community that backs up to Oregon Ridge Park and Gunpowder Falls, we like to think our setting feels familiar. More country than kennel, even if it is technically both.
We offer overnight and extended dog boarding in three accommodation tiers at our Jarrettsville facility. Standard Indoor Runs are fully climate-controlled with scheduled outdoor exercise yard visits throughout the day. Patio Terrace accommodations give your dog a private door to their own outdoor terrace that they can use throughout the day at their own pace. Luxury Suites are spacious, quiet indoor rooms designed for dogs who want a calm, home-like environment with premium amenities.
All accommodations include daily room service, fresh soft bedding, fresh water, meals served on your schedule, treats, toys, and soothing background music. We can accommodate large dogs, bonded pairs sharing a run, and pets requiring medication or specialized feeding. Standard amenities are provided, and your pet’s own food and comfort items are always welcome.
Cockeysville residents who commute or work long hours often turn to CCK daycare as a regular weekday solution for their dogs. Daycare runs Monday through Friday and includes at least one to two camp activities per visit depending on the package. Your dog is not left in a run watching the clock. They are active, socialized, and genuinely entertained.
Full day and half day passes are available. Packages of 5, 10, or 20 days are available and do not have to be used on consecutive days, making them practical for people with variable work-from-home schedules.
Cat boarding at CCK is quiet, comfortable, and specifically designed with a cat’s preferences in mind. Our cat condos are kept in a completely separate area from dog boarding, which means the environment stays calm and low-stress. Some condos front windows for environmental enrichment that cats genuinely use. Daily amenities include fresh bedding, fresh water, daily litter cleaning, treats, a scratching post, soft music, and personal attention. Cat Suites with more space and window views are available at the Shrewsbury location for those who want a larger option.
This is the part of CCK that clients talk about most. Our camp activity options at Jarrettsville include Group Play sessions with temperament-screened dogs (up to four per day), individual Leisure Nature Walks on long leashes through our wooded property, Play Yard time in a secure fenced area for dogs who prefer fetch to leash walks, TLC Time for dogs who want to sit with a person and be fussed over, Sit and Brush for coat maintenance, and Splash Time pond swimming for water-loving dogs. Boarding clients can add any activities a la carte. Full-day daycare clients receive two included activities per day.
Send your dog home clean. Bathing is available as a standalone service or as part of a boarding stay. Dogs receiving at least one leisure or group play activity per day over four or more paid boarding days qualify for a complimentary bath, a detail that a lot of our multi-day boarding clients appreciate at pickup.
Our pet shuttle was built for exactly the situation a lot of Cockeysville residents find themselves in. You want country-setting boarding for your dog, but driving 30 minutes northeast to Jarrettsville twice per boarding stay is not always possible. The Timonium Park & Ride on I-83 is typically a 10-minute drive or less from most of Cockeysville, and that is where we meet you.
To add shuttle service to your reservation, call our Jarrettsville location at 410-692-5055. Shuttle bookings need to be made in advance and are confirmed by a staff member. It is one of the most popular conveniences we offer for clients throughout Baltimore County, and spots fill up around holidays and busy travel weeks, so book early.
The Timonium Park & Ride is the closest shuttle stop for most Cockeysville residents. The meeting time is 1:00 pm for both pickup and drop-off. The address and map directions are listed on our pet shuttle page. Call 410-692-5055 to book your shuttle appointment as part of your boarding reservation.
Yes. Our indoor runs are large enough to accommodate multiple pets from the same family. This also lets bonded dogs stay together rather than being separated, which most owners and most dogs prefer. The rate structure for multi-pet same-family stays is listed on our rates page.
Most dogs settle in within a day or so and do very well with our routine. We find that dogs who have activity and interaction throughout the day adjust much faster than dogs left alone in a run. Bringing a familiar blanket or toy can help. We encourage first-time boarding clients to do a daycare visit before a longer stay if possible, just so the environment is familiar when they return.
Holiday periods, especially Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Fourth of July weekends, fill up fast at both locations. For shuttle service specifically, spaces are very limited and go earlier than kennel spots. We recommend booking two to three weeks out for holiday stays and further in advance if you can. Call early.
Yes. Like most licensed boarding facilities, we require proof of current vaccinations for all pets. Please check our FAQs and documents page for our current vaccination requirements before your first visit.
Cockeysville dogs and cats deserve a boarding experience that is as good as the parks and trails they walk at home. Country Comfort Kennels has been that place for Baltimore County families for over 40 years, and we work hard to stay worth the drive, or the shuttle ride.
Book online or call our Jarrettsville location at 410-692-5055. Mention shuttle service when you call if you need pickup at the Timonium Park & Ride and we will get both reservations lined up at once.

I cannot say enough good things about this kennel and it's staff. They are all so friendly and our 3 Olde English Bulldogges love to go there each and every time. During our last boarding, one of our dogs injured her dew claw and it required additional medical attention. The staff informed us of the injury right away and a plan was made to get her in with one of the kennel's local vets. She was seen the very next morning and taken care of. I was so happy with the communication from the staff to us while we were away. I was even more happy with the care they provided to our girl. <3Posted on Google![]()

They take such great care of my baby. She goes there twice a year and gets so excited when we get there.
